This collection of the papers of English literature professor and founding figure in utopian studies Arthur O. Lewis primarily documents his publications and includes correspondence, committee meeting minutes, reports, articles, publications, course materials, newsletters, and presentations. The collection includes correspondence with two co-authors: Frederick L. Gwynn and Ralph W. Condee, and with Prentice-Hall (publisher of The Case of Poetry). It also includes galley proofs, typescripts, and correspondence for reprints of poems and essays.

Author and educator Arthur O. Lewis served as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Professor of English at the Pennsylvania State University from 1950.
